Author, composer and performer, Fabio Viscogliosi is known since 1998 for his different collaborations with The Married Monk ("R/O/C/K/Y") and with Yann Tiersen ("Tout est calme"). Fabio is a genuine versatile artist, also applauded for his illustrated books (edited by Le Seuil or L’Association). He has received several awards for "L’Oeil du chat" (Alph’Art in 1996 at The Angoulême Comic festival), "Le Pacha" (Blutch drawings, Great Award of The Bologne International Fair for children books) and his series of comics, "Hyper-espace", in the french newspaper Le Monde. In "Spazio", his first album, one discovers the poetic world of this songwriter. "Spazio" is made of songs in Italian as well as instrumental pieces where Fabio mixes together the smooth atmosphere of Battisti's songs and the influence of Brian Eno or Robert Wyatt's peculiar pop music, but in all cases with a gift in writing obvious melodies, influenced by Bo Diddley, Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan, Marc Bolan, Soft Machine, Taxi Girl, Suicide, The Shadows… On this record, Fabio plays most of the instruments (various keyboards, guitars, bass), except some appearances, for example, Christian Quermalet (The Married Monk’s singer), Jean-Michel Pirès (Married Monk, Bosco, Bed…) or Ben of the Ben’s Symphonic Orchestra who plays the flute on "Riflesso".
